This is just a notification for folks to put a placeholder in their racing calendar.
Tyne Tri are planning to host another Aquathon event at Newbiggin Bay, Saturday afternoon 28th June. The swim is in a protected bay, so the water should be warmer and a lot calmer with little swell and would make a great first-time open water swim. The swim will be about 750m followed by a 5K run along the promenade and around the Church at the point. It's a really nice location and we're hoping to host a Triathlon there next year.
We'll follow up with further details. We have another meeting with the authorities 21st April to walk the course. At that stage we'll have a good idea of the race and entry details. We do know we'll have use of the sailing club and the RNLI will provide safety cover and post-race food & drinks & the usual goody bags.
