20/04/2008 - Les Cavill Qualifies for Rimini

Les Cavill of Alnwick Tri Club has qualified for the Duathlon World Championships in Rimini this year. He competes in the 50-54 Age category.
Les, who was second in the M50 cat at Hamsterley Forest Spring Duathlon '08, travelled to Milton Keynes for the National Duathlon Championships on 13th April. He had a fantastic first run, completing the 10k in 41min 43sec. A solid 40k bike followed in 1hr 12min, with the final 5k taking 25min on tired legs. Les finished 16th in category and had to wait until Fri 18th April to be given the news that he had done enough to qualify.
