TriHard Events who promote the Helvellyn Triathlon and the Keswick Mountain Festival Triathlon have added a third event to their Lakeland portfolio. The “A Day in The Lakes” Middle Distance Triathlon (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and 13 mile run) is to take place on Sunday June 28th 2009. It has the usual TriHard signature of being a challenging course in stunning surroundings.
The venue is Park Foot at Pooley Bridge where there is camping and caravanning on site together with ample showers, toilets and parking. There is also a bar, restaurant and take away food which all in all make it ideal for a weekend away.
The 1 lap bike course starts off along the full length of Ullswater before climbing the Kirkstone Pass, the opposite way to Helvellyn and descending to Windermere. It then heads off towards Kendal before climbing Shap Fell and returning to Pooley Bridge. The run will be a mix of road and fell in the Howtown area.
Entries are now open on the TriHard website.
