On Saturday 22nd November the Junior Regional Academy had a successful training session in Hamsterley Forest (Nr Bishop Auckland). Lead by a team of 8 coaches, the 22 junior triathletes enjoyed a mountain bike ride around the fantastic forest trails in Hamsterley working on strength and conditioning and bike handling skills. Although the morning was a little chilly the aspiring triathletes really enjoyed the change of scenery and switching from their road bikes to mountain bikes.
Thanks to all the coaches for delivering such a great session and the parents who also came along to support.
The next academy session will take place on Saturday 6th December at the Ponteland Leisure Centre, 12.30pm start. The focus will remain on bike handling skills but this time the training will be on road bikes.
