The Durham Tri Club AGM on Thursday 7th May saw an excellent turnout with lively participation and debate about the future development of the club.
A new committee was formed with the principal posts being filled by Graham Bradshaw as Chair, Stuart Drew as Secretary and Owen Weightman as Treasurer. Several other posts were created and each post has a vice- position in an effort to get as many people as possible involved in the running of the club
Four of the clubs major figures decided to hand over to new hands this year. Donna James one of the regions best female triathletes, Kay Wilson National Volunteer of the Year 2008, John Howells, race organizer and Anne Robinson the long serving Treasurer. Donna and Kay will remain active members.
The new Chair, Graham Bradshaw commented
“We resolved a lot of issues at the meeting and the new team can now move the club forward. The immediate priorities are to re-launch the website, design new club kit and have a great season in 2009. With the support of a new committee and all the members, I am confident we can build on the excellent base which the club has established and lead the club in to a new era”.
