09/06/2009 - The Prince Bishops Triathlon

In this current climate of financial insecurity it is perhaps understandable that, when triathletes are aware that in the past certain events have accepted entries up to and including on the day, they opt to delay their entries until the last minute. This has unfortunately resulted in the cancellation of some events and severe financial risk-taking with others.
The Prince Bishops Triathlon is such an event - a victim of it’s own policy of accepting late entries. Currently there are only 35 entries for the Sprint race on the Saturday and 40 for the Standard race on the Sunday. 70 and 110 entries respectively are needed for the event to break even. The Standard Distance event is also the regional championship race.
If you are one of those people who are delaying your entry please do not delay any longer or you may not have an event to compete in. A decision will be made soon as to whether these events are to go ahead. If the events are cancelled you will receive a full refund. This year is the 20th anniversary of the first "Prince Bishops". It would be a great shame if one of the oldest and most respected events in the region was no more.
