Treasurer’s Report:
Not a lot to report. Big expenditure had been accounted for at the AGM, we have received money from Nirvana for sponsorship and from British Triathlon for first half of year.

Chair’s Report:
All clubs have worked well together during the year. Appears to be lots of volunteers linked to different clubs and everyone seems to support each other.
Regional pool has worked really well, with clubs handing over equipment to each other. No megaphone yet but Amanda has one we can borrow. Amanda still happy to store the equipment in the lock up at Seaburn. If there are any problems then just e-mail Amanda.

Triathlon England:
Number of meetings been held to try and get an autonomous Triathlon England. It was a committee, British board already exists. England cannot afford to set up by itself.
Proposal of independent limited company with a service level agreement.
Main funding body is Sport England. They insist that governing body is fit for purpose. Hope this proposal goes through.
Company law states that at an AGM 75% majority.
Resolutions suggests that British Triathlon Federation is set up.
Regions are autonomous and there are nine of them.
The underlying point is government insisting that sports have to modernise.

Regional Funds:
Money coming in from Nirvana (£750) for kids series in addition to existing regional funds and continuing support from Sport England. Distribution as follows:

Regional Dinner:
Funding to be used to help subsidise one of the NE feature events of the year.
Money includes funding (£100) from Nirvana to purchase children’s series awards.

In addition – Nirvana will produce a flyer which race organisers can put into race packs at ALL NE series events.

Any NE BT member who books a holiday with Nirvana – will have £10 donated to the NE.

Senior Races:
Couple of clashes but dates filling up nicely.

Children’s Series:
New points system to be introduced for 2007.
We should be pushing more Triathlon events, not worry about swimming or athletics events in the region.
Kids must do 4 events in 2007 including 2 Triathlons.
John prepared to take over NECT website through Northern Pulse.

North East Children’s Triathlon (NECT):
