About Us
Northern Pulse CIC is led by Michael Dixon and Stewart Platt, two passionate creatives dedicated to using music to inspire, educate, and empower young people.
Stewart Platt is a graduate of Newcastle and Gateshead College and currently works as a radio producer, bringing a wealth of experience in audio production, broadcasting, and creative media. His background in community engagement and youth work gives him a strong understanding of how to connect with young people and help them build confidence through creative expression.
Michael Dixon is a professional DJ with over 20 years of experience performing at events across the UK. His deep knowledge of DJing, music technology, and live performance makes him an invaluable mentor for young people learning the craft. Michael is also actively involved in music-based activism and community projects, including Love Music Hate Racism North East, which promotes inclusion and equality through the power of music.
Together, Michael and Stewart combine technical skill, industry knowledge, and a shared commitment to social impact to deliver high-quality, inclusive music workshops through Northern Pulse CIC.
